Lappland Goldminers still drilling at Fboliden

Thursday, 1st September 2005 (2567 views)

Lappland Goldminers' January to June report is now out and details its latest exploits.

The company that operates primarily in the Vsterbotten region in Lapland continues to find gold in its central Fboliden project.

As ascertained in 2004, Fboliden contains an indicated mineral resource of 458,199 troy ounces of gold down to around 200 metres, which increases to 723,473 troy ounces between a depth of 200 and 350 metres.

Currently, mapping and expansion of the test mining area and core drilling are taking place and concentrating trials have just been completed.

These trials revealed higher levels of gold than predicted: the head grades from samples returned 3.6 g/t, much higher than the 1.53 g/t indicated by core-drilling the same sections so the company is working to verify these.

Five drill rigs including three at Fboliden and two on other projects are now in operation and Lappland Goldminers counts Gubbtrsk, Stortjrnhobben, Tjalmtrsk, Sandvikstrsk and Knaften amongst its number of projects.

Future plans include the building of a central concentrator at Fboliden in order to treat ore extracted from the Gold Line.
