Gold bars front 'smart smoke' campaignFriday, 26th August 2005 (2970 views) Japan Tobacco, the country's only tobacco supplier is launching a new campaign intended to promote its reduced-odour cigarettes. The undisputed highlight of the promotion is the chance for one smoker to win five kilograms of gold bars worth an estimated eight million yen. By answering an easy question about the new product, smokers also stand to win one of 100 26-inch liquid crystal display television screens. Smokers will have to own up to their habit by ticking a box proclaiming themselves smokers on a company postcard or by writing "I am a smoker" on a postcard. Japan Tobacco's spokesman Kei Koro declared that the 'smart smoke' campaign will alert smokers to the benefits of the company's new reduced-odour products. "We want more people to know about our reduced-odour products," he said. A smoker-friendly viewing for 75 couples of the US film 'Sin City' will also be arranged as part of the proceedings.
