Thursday, 11th August 2005 (4008 views) Anglogold Ashanti has sold its La Rescatada project in South Africa to Aruntani SAC Corporation.<br/><br/>It secured a price of $12.5 million for this Peruvian project based 800km from Lima.<br/><br/>For three years, Anglogold Ashanti will still have the right to repurchase up to 60 per cent of La Rescatada if gold reserves of more than two million ounces are found.<br/><br/>La Rescatada contains high sulphidation epithermal style gold and silver but Anglogold Ashanti has chosen not to pursue this.<br/><br/>There is reportedly a minimum of 500,000 ounces of gold at the site as confirmed by investigative drilling. <br/><br/>Anglogold Ashanti is the world's second biggest gold producer.<br/><br/><br/><img alt="track" src='http://feeds.directnews.org.uk/feedtrack/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=15021700'/>© Adfero Ltd
