Wednesday, 10th August 2005 (3913 views) Gold miner Randgold Resources celebrated its ten anniversary this month with the announcement of huge profit growth.<br/> <br/>The company, which operates in Africa, published a 208 per cent profit increase for January to June 2005 compared with the first half of 2004.<br/> <br/>Randgold Resources was incorporated in 1995 and is well known for its discovery of the Morila deposit in Mali.<br/> <br/>Chairman Philippe Lietard said Rangold Resources' achievements had been recognised by the gold mining market as it has been given "a leadership position among the gold industry's mid-cap companies".<br/> <br/>Randgold Resources' newest mine Loulo should start production later this month and the company is also investigating an area in the Côte d'Ivoire in its Tongon project.<br/><br/><br/><img alt="track" src='http://feeds.directnews.org.uk/feedtrack/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=15020405'/>© Adfero Ltd
