Dragon Gold to expand Mongolian exploration areasTuesday, 14th June 2005 (2669 views) Dragon Gold Resources has revealed that it is to expand its exploration areas in Mongolia. The company, headquartered in London, has acquired two exploration licenses in the Uyurkhangai Province. Covering a total of 23,352 hectares, the properties lie on the south-eastern boundary of the Khangai and Bayankhongor metallogenic zones, about 420 kilometres south-west of Ulaambaatar. Dragon Gold is currently completing its review of previous exploration works and preparing a field work programme for the new properties. "We are pleased with the addition of these two properties to our Mongolian gold/copper portfolio," said Albert Cui, director of exploration for Dragon Gold. "The geological features, mineral showings, and ancient Chinese pits, as described by previous exploratory work, indicate a good potential for the discovery of gold or gold/copper deposits. "I believe this will enhance the scope of Dragon Gold's future exploratory success in Mongolia." The new properties bring Dragon Gold's exploration areas in Mongolia to a total of 71,200 hectares.
