Monday, 13th June 2005 (4494 views) Canplats Resources has announced that it has discovered two new zones of gold mineralization at a mine in Mexico.<br/><br/>Named Mesa and Santa Rita Ridge, the new zones are located at Canplats' Yerbabuena gold property in the state of Durango.<br/><br/>Six separate zones were drill tested in a structurally favourable area of approximately one square mile in order to locate the new areas.<br/><br/>This area is characterised by swarms of northwesterly trending, locally banded quartz veins and zones of epithermal alteration developed in volcanic rocks. <br/><br/>Rock chip samples of the hydrothermally altered volcanics have yielded significant gold assays of up to 7.0 grams of gold per tonne.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8735679"/>
