Wednesday, 8th June 2005 (4135 views) African Gold announced today that it has secured final government approval of its acquisition of two gold concessions in Ghana, West Africa.<br/><br/>The Manso Nkwanta and Assuowunu concessions, currently held by Tropical Mines, are adjacent to African Gold's Twedee and Moseaso licences, and thus represent a strategic consolidation of land on the northern segment of the Asankrangwa gold belt.<br/><br/>With the addition of these two concessions, African Gold's landholdings in the region have increased from 314 square kilometres to 449 square kilometres.<br/><br/>The resultant known mineralised strike length has also increased from nine kilometres to 24 kilometres on the consolidated land package.<br/><br/>"The acquisition of these two concessions represents the fulfilment of a publicly stated corporate goal that dates back to the inception of the company," Ben Addo, chairman of African Gold, stated. <br/><br/>"We view our land portfolio as our primary asset and intend to continue to grow this asset as we move forward with our business plan."<br/><br/>According to African Gold, the Asankrangwa gold belt has a long and significant history of gold mining and exploration.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8700579"/>
