Atna begins Nevada drill programmeWednesday, 18th May 2005 (2467 views) Canada's Atna Resources has revealed a drill programme has begun at its Pinson gold project to ascertain gold mineralisation in the area.The project located in Humboldt County in Nevada will have 12 holes drilled over an area of 16,000 feet. Reverse circulation pre-collar holes have already been made and will be followed by core tails. According to the firm unexpected gold mineralisation has already been identified in four of six completed pre-collars. In addition, new results obtained from work conducted so far has shown a number of potential opportunities for high grade and open pit targets. Where opportunities have already been discovered, further drilling will now take place to further explore the area's potential. Measured and indicated resources at the site stand at 1.758 million tonnes, grading 0.30 ounces/tonne gold at 0.15 ounces/tonne gold. It is hoped underground exploration and development will take place in the second quarter of this year. Atna is currently building a gold exploration, development and mining enterprise in Nevada and is exploring and developing a host of gold projects.
