Tuesday, 10th May 2005 (4123 views) Peru's output of gold rose in March, according the company's Energy and Mines Ministry.<br/><br/>Gold production rose 2.6 per cent to 14,172 kilograms in March, compared with the same month the previous year.<br/><br/>Lima attributed the increase in gold output over the year in part to Minera Yanacocha and Barrick Gold's Pierina mine.<br/><br/>The ministry also reported that copper, zinc and silver production fell during the month, according to MarketWatch.<br/><br/>Minera Yanacocha is run by Newmont Mining and Buenaventura also holds a large stake.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=13033261"/>
