Linux Gold has announced it has staked a number of mineralised areas in western Alaska.<br/><br/>Sites near Granite Mountain on the eastern Seward Peninsula in Alaska contains deposits in Kiwalik, Peace River and Dime Creek.<br/><br/>The areas are prospective for a host of metals, including precious metal gold.<br/><br/>Investigations conducted in 1968 found concentrations of gold of up to one ppm in various clusters at the Kiwalik site.<br/><br/>However gold prospects are strongest at the Dime Creek claim, with gold found to be unusually pure.<br/><br/>An overall airborne geophysical survey is planned for the region to look at structure, rock contacts and potential mineralised zones. In addition, geochemical and ridgeline mapping is planned for the separate areas.<br/><br/>Linux is based in Canada and has an interest in three key properties located in China, Alaska and Canada.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8145629"/>
