Wednesday, 9th March 2005 (3981 views) US mining firm Mercantile Gold has purchased the Star Hill project in Arizona.<br/><br/>The company recently acquired a 50 per cent interest in the Mexican Hat gold deposit and has been conducting a regional exploration programme across southeastern Arizona.<br/><br/>Star Hill is located around 80 miles south-east of Tucson and has an estimated resource of 650,000 tonnes.<br/><br/>The copper-gold deposit is located in an area which has revealed good resources in the past and the area surrounding it has been widely explored by major mining companies.<br/><br/>Mercantile Gold is a mineral exploration and development company whose objective is to acquire, discover and develop world-class gold and silver deposits.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7986907"/>
