US miner Golden Phoenix Minerals has announced today it has appointed a new manger of mines.

Earl Harrison will have direct responsibility for the operation of the Mineral Ridge gold mine and the Ashdown mine.

In addition, he will be in charge of all mine permitting, planning and operations across the company.

Mr Harrison has been in the mining industry for 39 years.

Steven Craig, vice president and chief geologist said: "We are fortunate to have an experienced miner like Earl Harrison in charge of our mining operations.

"Earl has extensive experience with bonanza-grade underground mines all across Nevada. He has the full support of our staff and board of directors to implement our long-range plans."

Mr Harrison claimed he was proud to be in control of both the advanced stage properties and is looking forward to developing them further.track
