As Hong Kong prepares to celebrate the lunar new year, the gold industry is getting ready for a year of good fortune.

According to the BBC, this year, the Year of the Rooster, is significant for the precious metal since gold always play a key role in this particular lunar year.

Feng shui masters and geomancers, who are in big demand for political and personal fortunes, claim the gold market should be optimist since the year predicts good news for the industry.

However, gold also stands for lungs and intestines, causing feng shui masters to raise concerns over people's intestine and respiratory tract health.

The Rooster is the tenth sign in the lunar calendar and Chinese communities believe that the characteristics of each animal rule what happens over the following 12 months.

Since the rooster is a hardworking, but blunt bird, tradition suggests that businesses will enjoy better times but politicians will have difficulty.
