Tinka restarts Peru explorationTuesday, 1st February 2005 (2570 views) Tinka Resources, a Canadian mining firm, has announced that exploration has begun again at its site in Luminaria in Peru. The mineralised gold zone in the Huaraz mining district has produced positive results in the past, something that encouraged Tinka to explore the site further. Field crews have now been remobilised to the site, which is 3,500 hectares in size and grid soil sampling is set to continue. Later on, stream sediment sampling will occur as well as systematic excavation and additional pit sampling. Work at the site originally stopped as sampling did not produce enough positive or encouraging results.
