Goldcorp considers new Glamis offer

Tuesday, 11th January 2005 (2683 views)

Goldcorp has announced that it is currently considering a formal bid from Glamis Gold for all its common shares.

"The Board of Directors will review and evaluate the proposal," Goldcorp said in a statement.

"However, the offer appears to be the same as the non-binding proposal the Board previously reviewed and rejected when Glamis first declared its intentions."

Goldcorp's shares are listed on the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges. It is in excellent financial position and boasts the richest gold mine in the world - the Red Lake Mine.

Goldcorp has also tendered its friendly take-over offer to acquire all of the common shares of Wheaton River Minerals.
