Tuesday, 11th January 2005 (4355 views) Goldcorp has announced that it is currently considering a formal bid from Glamis Gold for all its common shares.<br/><br/>"The Board of Directors will review and evaluate the proposal," Goldcorp said in a statement.<br/><br/>"However, the offer appears to be the same as the non-binding proposal the Board previously reviewed and rejected when Glamis first declared its intentions."<br/><br/>Goldcorp's shares are listed on the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges. It is in excellent financial position and boasts the richest gold mine in the world - the Red Lake Mine.<br/><br/>Goldcorp has also tendered its friendly take-over offer to acquire all of the common shares of Wheaton River Minerals.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7540138"/>
