Tuesday, 11th January 2005 (4363 views) The 10th annual Dubai Shopping Festival has kicked off with the launch of a massive gold raffle.<br/><br/>A total of 120 kilos of gold is on offer with four weekly draws of 5kgs each and a grand draw of 100kgs of gold.<br/><br/>The grand prize is worth a staggering six million dirhams which is roughly £870,000. To enter a 22 carat Commemorative Gold Coin must be purchased.<br/><br/>Tawheed Abdulla, chairman of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, told AME Info that he expected record gold sales this year at the Dubai shopping extravaganza.<br/><br/>"This time we expect to break all previous records with the biggest sales in history," he stated.<br/><br/>"However, I would like to stress that our aim in promoting gold is not about making profits but marketing and manufacturing this coveted metal with the most rigid customer protection regulations."<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7540140"/>
