Friday, 7th January 2005 (4694 views) After years of being a reflection of bad taste, gold leaf trimmed mirrors are back on the trend list.<br/><br/>The use of mirrors clad in gold leaf is becoming increasingly popular in interior décor, with designers using the classy showpieces to add light and amplify the space of rooms.<br/><br/>Popular are the Cheval and leaner mirrors, according to the Ithaca Journal. Placed strategically in dark spots or corners, the mirrors can add a new dimension to a room and give the illusion of extra space.<br/><br/>"It's a good way to brighten up a room and use a dead area along with a stool or plant as long as it balances with the architecture of the room," Gail Montag a furniture store representative from Ohio, told the journal.<br/><br/>For customers thinking of placing mirrors in their homes, Ms Montag advises using ones with bevelling.
