RBC launches gold market service

Tuesday, 30th November 2004 (3053 views)

Royal Bank of Canada's (RBC) corporate and investment branch has announced it is to offer a marketing making service in gold and silver for spot, forwards and options.

The service by RBC Capital Markets will begin from December 1st this year.

Speaking about the move, Jason Henderson, managing director and head of FX derivative products said: "We believe the timing is very opportune given the recent volatile conditions in the gold market as it will help to relieve the reduced liquidity caused by the withdrawal of market making service by two other banks earlier in the year.

"The introduction of this service is further evidence of our commitment to delivering a full bullion service from our London office," he added.

RBC is the largest financial institution in Canada based on market capitalisation and assets and it is one of North America's leading diversified financial services companies.
