Thursday, 4th November 2004 (3866 views) The government in Ghana is considering setting up a gold museum and a general mining museum, according to GNA.<BR/><BR/>President John Agyekum Kufuor explained that the move was to promote the development of a gold refinery and develop the market for the production and sale of jewellery made in the country.<BR/><BR/>"These projects will be fitting tributes to our mining industry and I hope the mining companies will support some of them", he said.<BR/><BR/>The president has already approved a new processing plant for Goldfields Ghana and recently unveiled a plaque to launch it.<BR/><BR/>Principles have also been set up to ensure that all mining that takes place benefits individuals and communities within Ghana.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3790598"/>
