Silverado releases drilling update on gold site

Monday, 27th September 2004 (2954 views)

Silverado Gold Mines has released an update on its drilling efforts at its Nolan Gold Project, near Alaska.

Soil sampling has found significant gold findings and the ongoing lode programme was designed to find the bedrock source of the 140,000 ounces of placer gold Silverado and others have mined from the Nolan Creek Valley.

A trenching programme is now being planned to assess targets developed by previous results.

A key way of detecting gold at the site is through arsenic and antimony, which are known to occur with gold in the area.

The firm used an electromagnetic survey and steam techniques to ascertain where the precious metal was situated.

It is hoped a trenching programme will help to provide extra information to help future positioning of drill holes.
