Aurizon Mines makes golden discovery at new drilling zoneThursday, 23rd September 2004 (2509 views) Aurizon Mines has revealed that recent closed-spaced definition drilling at a site at its Casa Berardi project has been positive. The drilling has provided sufficient information that was needed and will be used in a revised feasibility study for the project. David Hall, Aurizon's chief executive officer said: "We are extremely pleased that the Zone 113 definition drill program has successfully accomplished our goal of defining the upper portion of the Zone. "Our geological staff expects that a new mineral resource estimate calculated for the upper portion of Zone 113 will closely resemble the results obtained from surface drilling in 2000." Drilling showed that gold was found within narrow to large folded veins in the zone and the best grades were in possibly faulted and folded quartz veins. A Canadian based gold producer, Aurizon has operations and exploration activities in the Abitibi region of northwestern Quebec - one of the prolific gold regions in the world.
