Centurion work on Omaruru gold mine approved

Tuesday, 21st September 2004 (2866 views)

South Africa's Centurion Gold has revealed today that it has gained approval to restore work at the Omaruru Gold Mine in South Africa.

Since all preparations have been completed the rehabilitation will begin immediately.

It is hoped the mine will produce 10kg of gold in the next month and 20kgs by the end of October.

CEO Arthur Johnson of Centurion Gold Holdings said, "The rehabilitation of the Omaruru Gold Mine will start adding revenue to Centurion without increasing our costs.

"We expect government approval of new mining operations at Omaruru to arrive shortly."

Gold produced will come from the processing of by-products from past mining operations for gold concentrate.

Centurion will get 30 per cent of production since it has selected Monrita Mining to run the operation.
