Thursday, 9th September 2004 (4472 views) A pair of gold nuggets are up for auction today, in the latest stage of Silverado Gold Mines' nugget sale scheme.<BR/><BR/>The latest offerings weigh 5.13 and 6.11 grams and are the seventh and eighth gold pieces to be put up for auction.<BR/><BR/>According to Silverado, the nuggets are over 10,000 years old and had been buried within frozen river gravels in its Nolan Gold Mine in the Arctic Circle of Alaska.<BR/><BR/>The tenth largest gold nugget in Alaskan history was discovered by Silverado in 1994, weighing a huge 1287.6 grams.<BR/><BR/>This auction follows the bidding for a similar nugget that was sold on eBay near the end of August.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3386088"/>
