Centurion acquires new storage landThursday, 9th September 2004 (2590 views) South African mining firm Centurion Gold Holdings has announced the acquisition of over 120 acres of land to be used for storing by-products of mining at its Primrose Gold Mine.The site was needed since production at the mine has been so high, with production reaching 22kg a month. CEO Arthur Johnson commented: "The additional land purchase was necessary to accommodate the increased production. We are pleased with the new high level of production we have achieved and looking forward to a further increase next month with the addition of production from the Sellies Mine." Mr Johnson also revealed that the company has taken an option to buy an additional 25 acres if required and predicts production will increase to 30kg for this month. South Africa is the world's largest producer of the precious metal and its gold reserves contribute over 40 per cent of global reserves.
