Wednesday, 8th September 2004 (4234 views) An old copper site in South Australia has shown promising signs for re-opening after drilling revealed mining possibilities for gold.<BR/><BR/>The Kanmantoo copper mine had not been drilled since the 1970s until recently and company Hillgrove Resources claim it now has "real potential for the re-establishment of one of Kanmantoo's traditional industries". <BR/><BR/>Hillgrove managing director David Archer told The Advertiser: "A major plus is that drilling also shows that gold and silver is associated with the copper and this could significantly enhance the financial returns if the mine is reopened."<BR/><BR/>Mr Archer explained that drilling will continue and a decision on a feasibility study may be made within a year.<BR/><BR/>The site closed in 1976 and is situated near Adelaide.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3377935"/>
