China gold production increasesFriday, 20th August 2004 (3216 views) Gold production has risen 5.94 per cent year on year in China, according to the latest China Gold Association results.New figures show that from January to June, China's gold production reached 93,351 tonnes, according to XIC. In addition gold companies reported profits of 1,2791 billion yuan, an increase of 31.28 per cent. The association's figures also revealed that the Shanghai Gold Exchange achieved a gold turnover of 144.41 tonnes and a gold transaction value of 15.525 billion million yuan in the first half of 2004.
