DGJG unveils new security initiativeFriday, 13th August 2004 (2486 views) Security measures have been boosted for members of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) in a new venture with Transguard.One of the aims is to provide members with an armoured vehicle service for transporting precious cargo. Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman of DGJG told AME Info: "We are extremely proud of this partnership with Transguard and are committed to continue providing better services and benefits for our members. "The gold and jewellery consumption in Dubai is particularly significant and state-of-the-art infrastructure advancement for all our members will help position our emirate globally as the hub of choice for gold, jewellery and precious stones." Gold and jewellery traders will be able to send and receive items safely at the Gold Souk itself meaning movement will be more convenient, faster and less expensive. In addition the service will be offered to members at special rates. Reportedly there are 25 tonnes of gold jewellery on display in the Gold Souk shops at any time.
