Gold production in Russia is performing well with latest figures showing a significant increase in just a few months.

According to the Gold Producers' Union, production of the precious metal in Russia has risen by 10.6 per cent in the first four months of this year.

In addition, by product and incidental gold production grew by 27.6 per cent to 3.72 tonnes, although mine production fell.

The Union also told Interfax that recoveries from scrap and secondary production rocketed by 190 per cent to 3.847 tonnes.
