Friday, 4th June 2004 (4236 views) New figures for India show gold production in the country increased this April compared to last year.<BR/><BR/>April 2004 saw 700.81 kgs of gold produced, whilst in the same month last year 615.24 kgs of the precious metal was produced.<BR/><BR/>The key producers in India were Hutti Gold Mines Limited (HGML) and the Hindustan Aluminium Company Limited (HINDALCO), which produced 270.81 kgs and 430 kgs respectively.<BR/><BR/>Some companies process gold as a by-product while processing copper in India, with HGML now the only unit making gold from ore stage after the closure of Bharat Gold Mines Limited.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2757018"/>
