Wednesday, 2nd June 2004 (6867 views) Gold production in Russia increased by 8.2 per cent in the first four months of this year, according to latest figures.<BR/><BR/>The Gold Producers' Union revealed that production grew year on year to 33.176 tonnes, according to Interfax.<BR/><BR/>In addition by-product and incidental gold production was increased by 27.6 per cent to 3.721 tonnes.<BR/><BR/>The largest increase was seen in recoveries from scrap or secondary production where results rocketed by 99.5 per cent to 3.847 tonnes.<BR/><BR/>However mine production did fall by 0.4 per cent to 25.607 tonnes.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2743047"/>
