Russia's gold production performing wellWednesday, 2nd June 2004 (2688 views) Gold production in Russia increased by 8.2 per cent in the first four months of this year, according to latest figures.The Gold Producers' Union revealed that production grew year on year to 33.176 tonnes, according to Interfax. In addition by-product and incidental gold production was increased by 27.6 per cent to 3.721 tonnes. The largest increase was seen in recoveries from scrap or secondary production where results rocketed by 99.5 per cent to 3.847 tonnes. However mine production did fall by 0.4 per cent to 25.607 tonnes.
