Kyrgyzstan gold production results revealed

Gold production in Kyrgyzstan has increased by 24 per cent in the last four months.

According to latest figures year on year gold production grew to 7.768 tonnes from January to April.

Reportedly the growth is due to increased operations at the Kumtor mine.

Kyrgyzstan itself produced 460.2 kg and the Canadian Kyrgyz Kumtor Gold Company produced 7.308 tonnes of the precious metal, according to Yellowbrix.

The aide to the head of state-owned Kyrgyzstan, Asek Balabekov, explained that in 2004 as a whole Kyrgyzstan would produce 20,438 tonnes of gold.
